Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Support Worker to join our team in Warrimoo, New South Wales. The successful candidate will require knowledge of the LGBTQIA+ community with a strong commitment to providing inclusive support

  • Location: Warrimoo
  • Day Required: Tuesdays
  • Hours: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Primary Focus: Transport and community access
  • Potential for Additional Hours: Yes, subject to rapport and suitability
  • Consistency and punctuality are essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, respectful, and inclusive support in alignment with the participant’s gender identity
  • Use correct pronouns (they/them) at all times
  • Transport the participant to a scheduled weekly activity and remain onsite (waiting in the car) for the duration
  • Liaise with the parent/guardian regarding scheduling, transport arrangements, and relevant updates
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and self‑expression
  • Provide light domestic assistance and meal preparation as required

Requirements:

  • Current Australian driver’s licence and access to comprehensive-inured car
  • NDISWC
  • WWCC for paid employment
  • Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Australian working rights

  • Demonstrated reliability, honesty, and professionalism
  • Experience supporting neurodivergent young people
  • Commitment to gender‑affirming and inclusive practice
  • Ability to maintain consistent weekly attendance and build positive rapport

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
