
Female Disability Support Workers – Newcastle NSW | Immediate Start
We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Female Disability Support Workers to provide mental health and psychosocial support to participants in Newcastle, NSW.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide person-centred, recovery-oriented mental health support
Support participants with complex behaviours and behaviours of concern
Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and individual support plans
Assist with daily living activities, routines, and personal care
Support community access, appointments, and social participation
Monitor wellbeing, manage risk, and follow NDIS practice standards
Complete progress notes, incident reports, and documentation
Provide in-home support in a safe and supportive environment
Essential Requirements:
Certificate III or higher in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, or related field
Experience supporting individuals with mental health or psychosocial disability (highly preferred)
Experience supporting participants with complex mental health presentations such as schizophrenia, PTSD, and other psychosocial stressors
Ability to manage challenging behaviours including verbal aggression and substance-related concerns
Comfortable working in family home environments and supporting participants with varying household dynamics
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Valid Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable transport
Strong communication and de-escalation skills
Shift Details:
Monday – Friday
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
