Purpose &
Summary Statement
Aurora Cooperative is searching for a talented and qualified addition to our team of Feed Mill Operators. Reporting to the location manager, he or she must be a team player with strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Identify and utilize proper personal protective equipment for each task.
Adhere to and ensure compliance of all safety policies and procedures among all team members. Promptly report unsafe conditions or actions to the location manager.
Be knowledgeable about the location’s Emergency Action Plan and Worker Protection Standards information.
Participate with the location manager in the presentation of the regular safety training material.
Maintain a clean work environment and do preventative maintenance on equipment
Operate equipment such as mixer, pellet mill, bagging machine, roller mill, grinder, forklift, handcart.
Answer phones and assist customers.
Conduct daily operations assigned by location manager
Effective verbal and written communication with customers, location manager, merchandisers, and other operations employees.
Responsible for weekly, monthly, and annual inventory counts, as well as entries into the inventory program.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant operations experience or demonstrated ability to acquire necessary expertise.
Requirements
Able to work hours that require overtime and weekends to accomplish work goals.
Able to move/lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work well in a team environment.
Maintain integrity and privacy of company and customer information.
Ability to drive safely.
Detailed math skills relevant to accurate inventory counts and blending of products.
Ability to operate basic computer software and able to learn new company-specific computer programs.

Aurora Cooperative Elevator Company is a farmer-owned agricultural cooperative that provides goods and services in over 70 rural communities. Aurora Cooperative was formed in 1908 by a group of 22 farmers so that together they could provide goods and services the farmers were not able to provide on their own. Aurora Cooperative continues with this purpose of providing goods and services to farmers in each of our four core divisions of Grain, Agronomy, Animal Nutrition, and Energy.
