Federal Work Study Program
Position Title: FWS on Campus Assistant
Duties & Responsibilities:
1) The assistant will provide general assistance and support to the Director. Some of the services performed will be filing of folders, papers, making information packets, completing bulk mailings, retrieving files from storage areas, and/or light typing.
2) The assistant will be trained on operating the fax machines and copiers.
3) The assistant will assist the Director/Manager with retrieving students from the classrooms.
4) The assistant will maintain the strictest confidentiality.
Position Qualifications:
FWS student employees must be enrolled and attending an "eligible program." Students must have been awarded FWS. Position requires good organizational and communication skills. Prior working knowledge of basic computer operations is desirable. Employees must be trustworthy and be able to follow directions. Limitations: FWS Student employees may not directly assist an instructor in classroom activities. Students may not participate in admissions, recruitment, maintenance, repair, general telephone or reception activities.
Hourly Wage: $16/hr
Hours: up to 25 hours per week
Duration of Employment:
The FWS student employee will be awarded the maximum amount of gross earnings by the Director of Financial Aid. This need-based award is subject to change or cancellation by the Director of Financial Aid. Employment may be terminated without notice if the employee ceases to be an "active student" in good standing, or the employee fails to perform his/her duties in a satisfactory manner or there is no longer a need for the position.
Supervision:
Departmental Director, School Director, or the Director's designate.

Hourly Wage: Sixteen dollars per hour. Wages are paid Semi-monthly. Each FWS employee must complete a daily record of time worked plus clock in/out using the ADP time clock or ADP online. The student's supervisor must certify that the record of hours was worked and earned. With the student's written authorization, FWS wages may be applied directly to a student s tuition and fees account.
