Job title: Inventory Analyst
Reporting to: Supply Chain Director

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing inventory levels to support production and operational goals. This role ensures that Federal Equipment Company maintains accurate inventory records, reduces excess inventory, and prevents shortages. The Inventory Analyst will collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure effective inventory management practices in alignment with company objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records across all systems and databases.
• Perform regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to ensure data accuracy.
• Analyze inventory levels, usage patterns, and replenishment needs to optimize stock levels.
• Identify and mitigate potential inventory issues, including shortages, overstock, or obsolescence.
• Collaborate with procurement and production teams to align inventory levels with project demands and schedules.
• Generate and present inventory performance reports, including metrics such as turnover rates and forecast accuracy.
• Evaluate and implement inventory management best practices to improve efficiency.
• Assist in cycle counting, physical inventory processes, and root cause analysis of variances.
• Develop and maintain inventory KPIs to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Extract and analyze ERP BOM (Bill of Materials) data to create detailed pick lists for scheduled production.
• Generate and distribute shop work orders, pick lists, and travelers for jobs.
• Create and maintain real-time production and inventory dashboards in tools like Teams and WASP.
• Monitor daily production schedules and material requirements, identifying potential shortages or delays.
• Participate in Gemba & production meetings to provide updates on material readiness, inventory levels, and kitting status.
• Proactively identify and trigger parts orders to ensure timely delivery to the production floor.
• Support lean initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements.
• Evaluate and enhance inventory control processes to improve accuracy, reduce waste, and streamline operations.
• Maintain and update inventory records in ERP systems, including issuing materials, tracking kitting progress, and managing plant delivery data.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards related to inventory management.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• 2-4 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or defense environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software; experience with [specific software used by FEC, if applicable].
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.
• Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory control practices, and demand forecasting techniques.
• Familiarity with government contracting requirements and FAR/DFAR regulations is a plus.

This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data.
