This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer who combines application development, DevOps engineering, and L1/L2 production support expertise to enable the successful onboarding, deployment, and ongoing support of enterprise applications.

This role is responsible for end-to-end ownership—from application build, environment setup, and platform integration to production stability, incident management, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will operate in a security-first, compliance-driven banking environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery
  • Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality
  • Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
  • Guides the team on work breakdown and execution
  • Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
  • Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team
  • Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor system health and application performance using Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, and Splunk; respond to alerts, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Design, build, and deploy containerized applications using OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm; create deployment manifests and ensure scalability and reliability best practices.
  • Support and maintain OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters, deployments, services, ingress/routes, and configurations.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, XL Release, and Ansible; automate release processes and maintain deployment artifacts.
  • Work with global teams to onboard applications and integrate with enterprise systems including monitoring, logging, IAM, CI/CD, and databases.
  • Configure and troubleshoot web servers (NGINX, Apache, Gunicorn, Uvicorn) and apply networking concepts such as DNS, load balancing, and traffic routing.
  • Perform database health checks, tuning, integration, and troubleshooting for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
  • Manage Redis caching and demonstrate working knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka.
  • Configure and manage observability across metrics, logs, and traces using Prometheus, Alertmanager, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, YAML, and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage and secure Linux (RHEL) environments, containers, and VMs ensuring compliance and performance optimization.
  • Align applications with IAM and security standards (SSO, OAuth/OIDC, Active Directory, Vault, TLS/PKI); support threat modeling and vulnerability analysis.
  • Manage project delivery using Agile methodologies, including backlog prioritization and progress tracking via Jira.
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation in Confluence/SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering / Production Support / Application Development
  • Strong ownership across development + support lifecycle
  • Ability to operate at both deep technical level and high-level architecture view
  • Excellent collaboration with global teams
  • Process-oriented with focus on documentation and governance
  • Automation mindset to eliminate manual effort
  • Comfortable leveraging AI/LLMs (e.g., Copilot) for productivity
