About the Role


As an Underwriting Assistant (m/f/d*) in Colombia, you will support the F&C Single Risk business as part of Global Underwriting Operations. Based in Bogota, the role provides end-to-end technical and operational support to underwriters, acting as a key interface to reinsurance accounting and other stakeholders while contributing to process optimization, data quality and continuous improvement in a global underwriting environment.

Responsibilities (your job):

  • Provide high-quality technical and operational support to the Facultative & Corporate (F&C) Single Risk underwriting activities in Colombia as part of the Global Underwriting Operations team.
  • Support the analysis, processing and coordination of policy endorsements and contractual modifications, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely execution.
  • Prepare, validate and maintain risk, underwriting and contract-related information in Munich Re underwriting systems and tools, in line with quality and governance standards.
  • Act as a key interface between Underwriters, Reinsurance Accounting (RIA) and other internal stakeholders, ensuring transparent and reliable information flows.
  • Support accounting- and premium-related topics, including the provision of underwriting information, premium figures and due dates to RIA.
  • Interact with clients and brokers on documentation, subjectivities and clarification requests, in close coordination with underwriters.
  • Ensure a high level of service quality, responsiveness and reliability in handling underwriting-related enquiries.
  • Contribute to underwriting quality assurance by supporting documentation standards, data completeness and proper filing.
  • Actively identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization and automation, contributing to continuous improvement within underwriting operations.
  • Participate in local, regional and global initiatives or projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams.

Qualifications (your profile):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or a comparable field.
  • Experience or solid exposure to insurance or reinsurance operations, underwriting support or financial/accounting processes.
  • Strong process and improvement mindset, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose pragmatic solutions.
  • Interest in or experience with automation and digital solutions, especially in operational or accounting contexts.
  • High level of coordination skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with underwriters, accounting teams, clients and brokers.
  • High degree of client orientation, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and service-oriented mindset
  • Proactive, structured and solution-oriented working style, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Very good command of MS Office, especially Excel; Power BI or data visualization skills are a strong plus.
  • Fluent Spanish and English (spoken and written); Portuguese or any other language is an advantage.
