At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the District Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and sales performance across multiple locations within an assigned district or zone. This role leads and develops Sales Team Members to execute sales strategies, grow market share, and strengthen customer relationships, while partnering with operations to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities Leadership, Management & Authority

  • Directly and indirectly supervise Sales Team Members and their teams across the district, ensuring effective leadership coverage of multiple locations
  • Make or recommend employment decisions, including hiring, termination, promotion, disciplinary action, and compensation changes
  • Lead, coach, and develop leaders to drive accountability, performance, and engagement
  • Ensure management of people, performance, and business outcomes is the primary duty of the role to drive sales

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute district-wide sales strategies to achieve or exceed revenue and growth targets
  • Lead, coach, and hold Sales Team Members accountable for sales performance and KPIs
  • Drive a high-performance sales culture focused on customer acquisition, retention, and share of wallet
  • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and competitive positioning strategies
  • Travel 50–70% within the assigned district to support field engagement and sales performance

Revenue Growth & Customer Development

  • Build and expand key customer relationships, including contractors, builders, and strategic accounts
  • Partner with local teams to increase customer engagement, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities
  • Support pricing strategies and margin optimization to balance growth and profitability
  • Monitor pipeline activity and ensure consistent prospecting and follow-up practices

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Track and analyze sales metrics, forecasts, and trends across the district
  • Develop and implement reporting tools to monitor revenue, pipeline, and sales productivity
  • Conduct regular business reviews with Sales Team Members to assess performance and drive accountability
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective sales action plans

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to align inventory, staffing, and service levels with sales demand
  • Support execution of company initiatives, promotions, and go-to-market strategies
  • Ensure alignment between sales objectives and operational capabilities across locations

Financial Accountability

  • Contribute to district budgeting and forecasting processes with a focus on revenue and gross margin performance
  • Monitor financial results and adjust sales strategies to meet or exceed targets
  • Exercise independent judgment in setting sales priorities, pricing strategies, and customer engagement approaches

Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Sales and corporate objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5–10+ years of leadership experience in sales, preferably in a multi-location or distribution environment
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in forecasting and performance analysis
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building materials, construction supply, or related industry
  • Experience managing multi-unit sales teams and complex customer relationships

Reports ToRegional Vice President, Sales CompensationThe listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
