Peppina is Hobart’s signature restaurant, celebrating the heritage of Culinary Director Massimo Mele. Named after his Nonna, Peppina delivers modern Italian cuisine with a distinctly Tasmanian twist. Our produce-driven philosophy focuses on simplicity, seasonality, and quality - where local ingredients are the hero and authenticity is at the heart of everything we do.

The Opportunity

We are seeking vibrant and committed hospitality professionals to join our Signature Restaurant team at Peppina. As a Food & Beverage Expert, you will play a key role in delivering a truly immersive and personalised dining experience for our guests.

You will be responsible for the seamless delivery of dishes from kitchen to table, taking orders, hosting and engaging with guests, and bringing our culinary offering to life through thoughtful storytelling. You will also support the opening and closing of the restaurant, along with accurate billing to conclude each service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver seamless food and beverage service, ensuring timely and elegant delivery of dishes from kitchen to table
  • Take accurate orders and provide knowledgeable menu guidance to enhance the guest experience
  • Host and engage with guests, creating a warm, welcoming, and personalised dining atmosphere
  • Bring the menu to life through storytelling of dishes, ingredients, and culinary inspiration
  • Support restaurant opening and closing procedures, ensuring operational readiness and closure standards are met
  • Manage accurate billing and payment processing to conclude service efficiently
  • Maintain strong communication with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth service flow
  • Uphold exceptional presentation, cleanliness, and service standards at all times
  • Contribute to an elevated, immersive dining experience aligned with Peppina’s signature offering

Profile

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a hospitality environment
  • Genuine interest in and knowledge of wine, cocktails, and food
  • Experience in sequence of service and premium plated dining delivery
  • Experience in using POS ordering systems
  • Enjoys storytelling and sharing the history and inspiration behind food and dishes
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to exceptional guest service
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
