Your Day to Day

As a Host / Hostess, you will be responsible for providing courteous and warm welcome at the entrance to all guests. You will provide an efficient service and maximize revenue opportunities through effective booking management.

Key responsibilities include:

• Warmly welcome and acknowledge all guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional manner.
• Manage the reception area and ensure guests are attended to promptly.
• Confirm reservations, seating preferences, special occasions, and guest requirements.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus in accordance with the restaurant's service standards.
• Maintain an accurate overview of table availability and coordinate seating with the restaurant team.
• Manage the waiting list and communicate estimated waiting times professionally.
• Coordinate closely with Restaurant Supervisors, Waiters, and other Food & Beverage colleagues to ensure smooth guest flow.
• Handle telephone calls, restaurant enquiries, and reservation requests in a professional manner.
• Maintain accurate reservation information and ensure all relevant guest preferences are communicated to the team.
• Recognize returning guests, VIPs, and IHG One Rewards members where applicable.
• Assist guests with information about the restaurant, menus, promotions, facilities, and other hotel services.
• Respond professionally to guest feedback and requests, escalating concerns to the appropriate manager when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area at all times.
• Support the restaurant team during busy periods and assist with other operational requirements as needed.
• Ensure all interactions reflect the service standards and values of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.

What We Need From You

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

• Previous experience as a Hostess, Guest Relations Agent, Receptionist, or in another guest-facing hospitality role is preferred.
• Previous experience in a luxury or five-star hotel or restaurant environment is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, confident, and naturally welcoming personality.
• Professional appearance and excellent personal presentation.
• Strong customer-service mindset with genuine attention to guest needs.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during high-volume service periods.
• Comfortable working with reservation systems and basic computer applications.
• Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
