The FAFT Program Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, developing, and implementing life skills workshops, financial literacy programs, and workforce development initiatives within the FAFT program. This role represents The Centers' Fatherhood Program in the community and with other organizations, ensuring the program meets its contracted objectives. The specialist is an expert on issues related to fatherhood and provides consultation to other programs within The Centers as needed. Additionally, they maintain essential relationships with program participants throughout their involvement in various programs. They coordinate, develop, and deliver content for the El Barrio workforce program at The Centers.
Job Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent with demonstrated experience working with fathers and their children.
• Certified in Fatherhood Curriculums a plus.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License, with proof of valid insurance required, and personal vehicle preferred.
• Ability to work in a variety of locations and work flexible hours.
• One year of experience in community-based client services required.
• One year working with parents in stressful family situations preferred.
• Must be computer literate e.g. (Microsoft software, internet, databases).
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Provides direct services to individuals, groups, and families facing a wide range of challenges and barriers to healthy family formation.
• Establishes positive working relationships and gathers information from clients and supplementary sources to develop individualized plans to promote family stability, along with appropriate follow-up.
• Refers clients to clinical services when necessary.
• Researches and creates relevant materials to conduct educational activities with El Barrio and other agencies for recruiting, training, screening, assessing, and planning.
• Delivers presentations on pertinent fatherhood topics tailored to general and target audiences.
• Facilitates classes at various locations throughout Cuyahoga County.
• Coordinates, plans, and engages with fathers in community events at the Centers and across Cuyahoga County.
• Ensures that participants meet eligibility standards and properly document their information.
• Assists in establishing community support networks for families.
• Participates in the recruitment, marketing, and intake processes of participants from internal and external community stakeholders.
• Ensure all program materials are current, accurate, and ready for dissemination.
• Completes all basic administrative tasks related to the program, including timely completing records, forms, and reports.
• Aids in writing program reports.
• Represents the agency by attending all required Fathers/Parenting meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
