Fashion & Photography Instructor

Location: Durango, CO Parks & Recreation

Program Dates: October 19, 2026 – November 4, 2026

Days: Mondays & Wednesdays

Time: 4:00 PM – 6:15 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and dependable Fashion & Photography Instructor to lead an engaging enrichment program that introduces participants to the worlds of fashion and photography.

The instructor will guide participants through fun, hands-on activities that encourage creativity, self-expression, and the development of basic fashion and photography skills. The ideal candidate is energetic, comfortable leading a group, and passionate about helping participants explore their creativity in a positive and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging lessons and activities focused on fashion and photography.
• Introduce participants to basic fashion concepts, including style, design, color, and creative expression.
• Teach introductory photography concepts such as composition, lighting, angles, and visual storytelling.
• Plan and facilitate creative, hands-on projects and activities.
• Encourage participants to develop and express their own personal style and ideas.
• Adapt activities to accommodate different experience and skill levels.
• Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and positive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
• Manage program materials and supplies responsibly.
• Arrive on time and be prepared for each scheduled session.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in fashion, photography, visual arts, design, or a related creative field preferred.
• Previous teaching, coaching, mentoring, or youth program experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, patient, dependable, and comfortable leading group activities.
• Ability to make fashion and photography concepts fun and accessible for beginners.
• Must be available for the full program schedule.
