The Opportunity

Nile is transforming the way fresh produce is traded across Africa by connecting producers and buyers through a tech-enabled marketplace.

As a Seller Relationship Manager, you will play a critical role in driving supply-side growth by building strong farmer relationships, increasing platform adoption, and enabling seamless trade execution. This role sits at the intersection of sales, customer success, and marketplace operations.

You’ll work closely with farmers, helping them unlock more value from the platform while contributing directly to Nile’s growth and market expansion.

You will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of farmers on the Nile platform. This includes driving supply activity and consistency and ensuring farmers fully leverage the platform’s capabilities.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded, relationship-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Growth & Commercial Performance
    • Own and grow supply within a defined portfolio of farmers
    • Drive increased supply consistency
    • Identify opportunities to expand farmer engagement and unlock additional supply
    • Support execution of high-value or time-sensitive trades
  • Farmer Relationship Management
    • Build strong, trust-based relationships with key farmers
    • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned farmers
    • Proactively engage farmers to understand production plans, challenges, and opportunities
    • Resolve queries and issues quickly and effectively
  • Platform Adoption & Enablement
    • Train and onboard farmers to effectively use Nile’s online platform
    • Drive adoption of digital tools and self-service functionality
    • Educate farmers on market demand, pricing trends, and product requirements
    • Gather feedback to improve product and customer experience
  • Operational Support & Execution
    • Ensure smooth execution of trades from listing to delivery
    • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, logistics, product) to resolve issues
    • Monitor supply flow, identify risks (e.g. shortfalls, quality issues), and take proactive action
    • Maintain high service levels and reliability
  • Market Insights & Feedback
    • Share supply insights, pricing trends, and farmer behaviour
    • Identify gaps in supply (volume, quality, timing) and communicate internally
    • Contribute to improving marketplace efficiency and customer experience

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Fresh produce / agriculture / farming
    • Agricultural trading or sourcing
    • Food distribution or wholesale markets
    • B2B sales in FMCG or commodities
  • Strong commercial mindset with a focus on growth
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • High level of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving and customer management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
