About Hamlin road Organic
Farm

Established by Pathways in
2002, Hamlin Road Farm is a certified organic farm that provides unique
transitional employment and education opportunities for people experiencing
mental illness, adding another dimension to their recovery journey.

The farm allows people to
create an identity as a worker and gain the skills, qualifications and
confidence to think about a job anywhere.

With a strong focus on
sustainability, Hamlin Road Farm grows an array of organic produce and
seedlings in its nine large outside garden beds, six shade houses and its
citrus orchard and propagation house.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

As a Farm Support Worker
your role will be supporting people in real employment, the maintenance of an
organic farm, and supporting people with their health and wellbeing. You might be supporting them to access the resources
they need to live well and assist them towards building resilience into their
lives. You will be encouraging and
assisting people to connect with their communities and building relationships
that matter most, and you’ll need to be prepared to do whatever it takes to
make a difference.

This is a permanent,
full-time position working 32 hours per week. You will be working Monday –
Thursday, 7am – 4pm. You will be able to work on our market stall one Saturday
and Sunday per month. You must also be able to cover a lawn mowing contract as
needed.

You | Mōu
We are interested to hear from people who have a
caring nature and have impeccable attention to detail. You must be able to work
weekends as
or if required in covering the market stalls and be able to assist with our
online website selling produce and seedlings. There is some heavy lifting
involved in this role so you must be able to lift crates. You must be able to
adapt to all challenges and work in all weather conditions.

You will also have;

  • A current full driver’s licence
  • Either the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent).
  • Knowledge in horticulture
  • Customer service skills
  • Knowledge in the Health and Wellbeing sector
