Job Description

Join PEAK Genetics as a Farm Operations Manager plays a key role in keeping two production locations running efficiently and effectively. This position leads the management of facilities, equipment, feed and bedding, vendor partnerships, and logistics while collaborating closely with Production Managers to support seamless day-to-day operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee facilities, grounds, equipment, maintenance, asset management, and operational needs across two production locations.
  • Manage feed and bedding purchasing, quality, costs, and delivery logistics while partnering with vendors, nutritionists, and internal teams.
  • Build and manage vendor and contractor relationships, including pricing, service agreements, maintenance schedules, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate manure management activities and hauling logistics in alignment with established nutrient management plans.
  • Support capital projects by coordinating contractors, materials, scheduling, and on-site execution.
  • Lead and develop Farm Operations Technicians through hiring, training, coaching, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Support budgets, invoices, purchasing records, and compliance while promoting a strong culture of safety, biosecurity, and operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Facilities Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities or equipment management, agricultural operations, or a related field, including experience managing vendors and contractors.
  • Strong organizational, planning, project management, and communication skills with the ability to independently manage competing priorities across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and asset or inventory tracking systems.
  • Comfortable working in and around livestock facilities and able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between locations, up to 50%.
