We have opportunities available for Farm Operations Managers across our Northern New South Wales operations, located throughout productive cropping regions. Start date can be asap or after harvest.

Our Northern NSW farms operate across large scale broadacre cropping properties, with a combination of quality soils, reliable rainfall and diverse winter and summer cropping programs. This provides an excellent opportunity to work within a well established agricultural operation, develop your skills and contribute to the successful delivery of large scale farming programs.

You’ll be part of a passionate and collaborative team, working closely with experienced Farm Managers and agricultural professionals who are proud of what they do and enjoy sharing their knowledge. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your role, contribute to day to day farm operations and continue developing your experience across crop production, machinery and farm management.

On farm accommodation may be available depending on the location, including suitable accommodation for families. The region also offers a relaxed rural lifestyle, with nearby communities providing access to schools, sporting clubs, services and other local amenities.

Job Description

What does a Farm Operations Manager at Warakirri Cropping do?

• The Farm Operations Manager has full insight into what is happening on the farm and you get to be involved in decision making processes.
• You will be working with the Farm Manager on the day-to-day management of the farm and its performance. This includes a strong contribution to operational management, employee and contractor management and leadership, and Workplace Health and Safety.
• Working closely with the farm manager, our independent agronomy team and the in-house precision ag team, you will have the chance to monitor and manage crops to reach their full potential.
• You will work on the development of the farm, its people as well as the group culture in line with the company's values. You will also be operating machinery, which includes spraying, planting, spreading and harvest.

Qualifications

• You bring Management experience in a broadacre cropping operation
• You have a sound knowledge of growing dryland winter crops.
• You have experience in the operation of large-scale cropping plant and equipment.
• A willingness to learn, adopt new practices and further develop personal skills, whilst working in a team environment is what others pride you on.
• Your skill to mentor and coach others is one of your strengths and you have demonstrated this previously.
• You have a high level of initiative and self-motivation
• You have excellent communication skills and can work closely with consulting agronomists and contractors
• Relevant qualifications will be looked upon favorably but is absolutely not a must.
