About Us:

Frostwood Farms is a hay and crop farming operation located in Fitchburg, WI. One acre of land is dedicated to growing tomatoes and peppers, our St. Isidore Garden. The Frostwood Farms Team is comprised of the Farm Team and the Garden Team who work together to tend the land.

This position is a full-time, seasonal position. Our season typically runs from the beginning of May through mid- October. Workdays will run from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday- Friday but can vary depending on the weather. Weekends will be required on an as needed basis depending on the hay operation. This job is 35-40 hours of work per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for general landscape maintenance for our properties including cutting grass, trimming and weeding garden beds using a variety of equipment including mowers, trimmers and other hand-held tools.
• Assist the Garden Team in preparing and deconstruction of garden plots at the start and end of the summer season. This includes the physical setup and removal of vegetable plants.
• Assist with the hay operation as needed.
• Maintains a clean and safe workspace and upholds all Frostwood Farms and St. Isidore’s Garden standards, equipment policies and safety procedures.
• Communicates effectively with all necessary Frostwood Farms teammates and supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Proven ability to work well in a team-based environment.
• A strong desire to work in an outdoor setting for the duration of the summer.
• Can maintain and perform all necessary safety requirements
• Preference will be given to individuals who have gardening or farming experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to safely drive a farm truck with a trailer.
• Low absenteeism.
