Job Description

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Assists in the general irrigation operation of a large scale farm through maintenance and repair of irrigation pivots.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pivot irrigation systems to ensure proper irrigation for crops in a timely manner.
• Assist in the maintenance of the entire irrigation system, buried pipes and wires, valving, etc.
• Assist in maintaining the farm's physical property which may include building repairs, cleanup, etc.
• Proper use and maintenance of all supplied safety equipment/gear.
• Other duties as assigned.

Relevant Experience

• 1 year related experience with pivot irrigation systems and general farming operations.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and speak English.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work well with others in a fast paced environment.
• Able to be on time for shift.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb ladders to work at varying heights.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed heat, cold, wind, wet and humid conditions.
• The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
