About the role and you

Reporting to the General Manager, Perth Lynx, the Fan Engagement Officer is responsible for growing the club’s fan base by creating meaningful connections between the team, its athletes and the Western Australian community. The role leads the delivery of fan growth and engagement through initiatives across game day, community programs, schools and grassroots basketball, with a strong focus on increasing attendance, driving membership and merchandise growth, and building long-term fan loyalty.

You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced sporting environment, enjoys being out in the community and takes pride in delivering high-quality experiences for fans. You are organised, proactive and relationship-driven, with a genuine passion for sport and connecting people to it.

The main duties include:

  • Driving Fan growth and engagement of the Perth Lynx
  • Planning and delivering engaging fan experiences across all Perth Lynx home games, including activations, themed rounds and in-game entertainment
  • Driving ticket sales and attendance through a targeted approach involving community engagement, promotional offers and group initiatives
  • Developing and delivering a structured Lynx community program including school visits, clinics and grassroots basketball engagement
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, local basketball associations, community organisations and key stakeholders
  • Establishing a consistent Perth Lynx presence across WA basketball associations and community networks
  • Driving membership growth by converting engaged fans into members and delivering member-focused experiences
  • Driving Lynx merchandise and brand visibility across game day and community activations
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams including marketing, partnerships and operations to deliver aligned outcomes

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in sport, events, community engagement or fan development
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to plan and deliver events and activations to a high standard
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A passion for sport and creating positive fan experiences
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends during the season
