• $105,570 - $110350 per annum (FTE). This role is paid hourly in line with the SCHADS Award Level 5 and based on classification and experience.

As a Family Services Practitioner in our Foster and Kinship Care team, you'll play a vital role in strengthening placements, supporting carers, and improving outcomes for children and young people across Northern Tasmania.

As a Family Services Practitioner within our Foster and Kinship Care program, you will:

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of foster and kinship carers
• Build strong relationships with carers, children, young people, and key stakeholders
• Develop and implement co-designed placement support plans
• Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advocacy for carers
• Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to practice
• Promote the safety, wellbeing, and best interests of children and young people
• Collaborate with Child Safety Services and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes

About You:

You are a compassionate and resilient practitioner who is committed to improving outcomes for children, young people, and families.

You will bring:

• Strong assessment, case management, and engagement skills
• Knowledge of child development, trauma, attachment, and risk assessment
• Experience applying evidence-informed and therapeutic approaches in practice
• Understanding of child safety, out-of-home care, and family support systems
• Experience working with families experiencing complex needs
• Confidence engaging with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally diverse families
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
• The ability to exercise sound professional judgement and work effectively under limited supervision
• A genuine alignment with BaptistCare's Mission, Vision, and Values

Essential requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Human Services, or a related field
• Alternatively, a Diploma in Community Services with a minimum of two years' relevant experience
• Current Driver's Licence
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region
• Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
