In collaboration with the social work team, the family resource worker is responsible for supporting families in need of additional resources while providing care for their child at CHEO. This includes coordinating hospital and community services for and with families; receiving and processing all requests for financial assistance from the CHEO Foundation; advocating on behalf of families for needed services, assisting with managing the social work funds.

Effective March 29, 2021, CHEO will conduct a more comprehensive pre-screening and evaluation process. This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test, practical exam, or other assessment.
