  • Permanent Full-Time Position - $92,279 per annum ($46.70 per hour) plus Superannuation

The Family Relationship Educator is Responsible for providing a range of education and community awareness development activities to support community members increase their skills and knowledge.

Key tasks of this role include:

• Implementing strategic community awareness and education sessions to expand access to CatholicCare Central Queensland’s services;

• Participate in business development and networking to ensure the ongoing financial viability of the program.

• Develop, plan and implement community education classes and provide presentations on the topics of (including but not limited to) parenting, separation, relationships, child safety, domestic and family violence, and children in focus;

• Represent CatholicCare Central Queensland at networking events, meetings and outreach events;

• Conduct appropriate intake, assessment and outcome measurements;

• Ensure they provide services in accordance with the Family Law Act, Child Protection Act, Family Services Operational Framework and the organisational Quality Management System policies and procedures; and

• Participate in business development and networking to ensure the ongoing financial viability of the program

Qualifications and Experience

Relevant degree in education/ social sciences and/or experience; and

• Current C class Driver’s license (QLD).

Core Competencies

• Demonstrated experience in delivering education to individuals and groups, with sound knowledge of issues affecting children and families, including parenting, domestic and family violence, child safety, separation, relationships and child focused practice;

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to develop, plan, implement and facilitate psycho-educational programs and community education activities, including flexibility to deliver programs outside standard business hours when required;

• High level of capability to conduct intake, assessment and outcome measurement and to accurately complete data entry, reporting and documentation in line with funding requirements, service guidelines and organisational procedures;

• High level of ability to provide information, support and referral services while maintaining confidentiality, duty of care and professional boundaries, including identifying and responding appropriately to domestic and family violence, child abuse, suicide ideation and self-harm risks;

• Sound level of ability to engage with community stakeholders, participate in networking and outreach activities and represent CatholicCare professionally to promote programs and increase client access and participation;

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders, including active participation in team meetings, supervision and line management processes;

• Demonstrated capacity to engage respectfully and effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds, with awareness of cultural protocols and inclusive, client centred approaches;

• Sound understanding of legislative, funding and organisational compliance requirements, with the ability to meet service obligations within the Family Law Act, Child Protection Act, Family Services Operational Framework and Quality Management System; and

• Demonstrated commitment to professional conduct, ethical practice and ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance skills, knowledge and service quality.

Other Requirements

The ability for regular travel within the area of service delivery and occasionally outside the area of service delivery.
