About the position
As a Clinic Family Practitioner, you will contribute by providing patients with all the information they need for a smooth and pleasant experience as they undergo fertility treatments at the Centre. The Family Practitioner will help patients understand the procedures, the choices they have and what their treatment entails. From the initial consultation through the actual treatments and the ultimate goal of having a baby, the Family Practitioner will guide patients through every step with empathy and qualified guidance, in compliance with the standards and protocols established by the Centre. To thrive in this role, the incumbent is required to build and maintain collaborative relationships within and outside the IVF Centre, as various functions rely on each other’s performance. You will ensure that all documentation is accessible, traceable and accurate. Crucially, you will share the founder’s passion for being the international standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centres and for making the right to family accessible to everyone.
Requirements
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
• Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners'
• Act as a patient's advocate
Current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario; CCFP certificate preferred:

Member of The Canadian Medical Protective Association.
ï
Degree in medicine from a recognized university.
ï
Thorough current primary health care physician knowledge and proficiency.
ï
Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of community-based health care and health promotion concepts.
ï
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment where the skills and responsibilities of each team member are recognized and respected.
ï
Ability to provide compassionate, respectful, non-judgmental, and culturally competent care.
ï
Excellent communication, interpersonal, decision making, conflict management, organizational and administrative skills that include computer literacy.
ï
Awareness of and sensitivity to the health issues of a diverse community and experience working with vulnerable populations.
ï
Availability to work evenings.
ï
Availability to provide on-call to clients after hours and weekends.
