
The Pediatric Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide specialized care for pediatric patients with a range of gastrointestinal conditions. Working under the supervision of pediatric gastroenterologists, the NP will be responsible for performing assessments, making diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and managing patient care from initial consultation through long-term follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive physical exams, taking detailed health histories and performing diagnostic tests to assess gastrointestinal health in pediatric patients.
Diagnose and treat common and complex pediatric gastrointestinal disorders, including but not limited to reflux, Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, IBS, and food allergies.
Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans for patients, monitoring for effectiveness and making adjustments as necessary.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging studies, and endoscopic procedures.
Collaborate with pediatric gastroenterologists, pediatricians, dietitians, psychologists, and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive care plans.
