
The Faculty Practice Physician Faculty- will provide excellent, evidence-based, efficient patient care services, as well as resident and student teaching, mentoring, effective supervisionThis role is within the department of Family Medicine to help meet the clinical needs of the department. This position is 20 hours/week.
Directly care for ambulatory patients in any of the FM Practice site at Deerfield Retirement Community
Teach and mentor learners inevidenced-based care
Participate in and foster scholarship in the ambulatory setting
Provide services in the inpatient setting at Mission Hospital
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical
Provide direct clinical care to Family Medicine patients for six-seven ½ days weekly, to include all patients in the ambulatory setting.
Provide direct clinical care and oversight of resident teams in the inpatient setting at Missionhospital– 5-10 weeksper year.
Complyin a timely mannerwith all institutional policies for professional work, including credentialing, documentation, and billing.
Work effectively with other members of the extended inter-professional team.
Additionalclinical duties as necessary for emergent situations or as arranged otherwise with the employee.
Teaching
Serve as a faculty advisor and mentor for residents.
Promote andparticipatein education programs of the department (continuing education, resident, student), to include didactics in areas of interest in Internal Medicine
Supervise and teach learners in boththeambulatory and inpatient environment.
Research
Demonstrate commitment to community-based health sciences and research.
Pursuescholarly activity.

Certification by the American Board of Family Physicians
Appointment in good standing to the medical staff of Mission Health System.
SCHEDULE:
Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division);40 hoursper workweek; weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is occasionallyrequired Work hours will need to be flexiblein order torespond to special work assignments, or evening activities, as requested by the team leader.
