Family Lawyer

Longton Blackwell is seeking an experienced and ambitious Family Lawyer to join our Sydney office as part of an exciting growth phase for the firm.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Liaise with clients, opposing parties or their legal representatives, third parties, and counsel
• Provide timely, practical, and strategic legal advice
• Conduct legal research relevant to active matters
• Draft legal documents including court documents, affidavits, and briefs to counsel
• Attend court hearings, events, and mediation conferences
• Confidently run matters autonomously, including direct client communication and advocacy
• Take a collaborative and resolution-focused approach to matters
• Guide and support junior solicitors and PLT students
• Be mentored by and report to Senior Solicitors and Partners of the firm

About You

You will bring:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience practising in Family Law
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• A genuine interest in family law and client outcomes
• Confidence managing files independently
• An ambitious mindset and desire to grow with the firm

Essential & Desirable Criteria

• Australian working rights
• Experience in Family Law
• Mandarin language skills are beneficial but not essential
