The primary focus for this Family Intake Therapist is to serve clinics with referrals. The work includes coordinating incoming referrals, completing phone intakes with callers who are seeking services for their children, and facilitating communications between the Behavioral Health Intake Department and the various internal and external outpatient stakeholders served by the Intake Department. As such, this position is more focused on the operational and relational needs of the department rather than providing direct clinical care.
Additional duties include completing level of care assessments in the Emergency Department and via telehealth, coordinating incoming and outbound transfers of patients, and completing admission paperwork with legal guardians.
Hours: Mon.- Fri. 8:30 - 5, some flexibility may be needed.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
LMSW, LCSW or LPC in the state of Texas.
Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health.
Strong Organizational/Administrative Skills.
Ability to professionally manage provider communications.
Experience providing family therapy.
Hospital and pediatric experience preferred.
Education in Child growth and development required.
CPR Heartsaver; CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
