The Family Intake Therapist will provide intake assessments in the Emergency Department and over the phone to determine appropriate level of care and treatment. Provides family assessments, family therapy, crisis intervention, and telephone triage for psychiatric inpatients, PHP, ER, and discharged patients. Participates in group therapy, multi-disciplinary treatment, diagnostic conferences, and diagnostic interviews. Provides case management services for all patients. Manages patients' mental health benefits and keeps informed of all information regarding the patients' treatment and their payor. Available for Intake on-call on as needed basis.
Hours: up to 12 hours per week, hours will vary
Required Education & Experience
Master's level in Social Work or related field
Experience in family therapy
Child growth and development education
Preferred Skills/Experience
Experience working in a hospital setting
Experience working with families and children in crisis
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Licensed by State of Texas: LMSW, LCSW or LPC
Qualified as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) by the Texas Department of Health.
CPR Heartsaver; CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children’s Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
