ABOUT THE ROLE:

This FDRP role has a focus on providing family and property mediation and dispute resolution services to separating families that are both child focused, culturally appropriate and with the opportunity for child inclusive practice.

As a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you'll help parents move forward with confidence by providing child-focused, culturally responsive dispute resolution, parenting support, information, referrals, and education programs. This is an opportunity to empower families, promote positive relationships, and create better outcomes for children through purposeful, impactful work.

This is a Part-Time ongoing opportunity (22.8hrs per week), based at our Broadmeadows Office within our Family Preservation & Reunification Program.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working closely with the Centre Manager and FDR team, your duties will include:

  • Family Dispute Resolution - Conduct family and property assessments and mediations & support families to achieve child-focused parenting and property outcomes.
  • Complex Case Management - Assess and respond to family violence, mental health and substance use concerns & create safe, culturally responsive environments for diverse families.
  • Partnerships & Referrals - Build strong referral pathways and community partnerships. & connect families with appropriate support services.
  • Collaboration & Administration - Maintain accurate client records, data and service documentation.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner registration (or eligibility) required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to use highly developed communication both written and verbal to work collaboratively with team members, stakeholders and the broader community.
  • Experience in both Property and Family Dispute resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with families with a range of complex needs including mental health and drug and alcohol issues or from CALD and indigenous backgrounds.
  • Experience in both Property and Family Dispute resolution

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence.
  • Valid and current Working with Children Card.
  • Valid and current NDIS Worker Check (for NDIS risk assessed roles).
  • Satisfactory criminal history check conducted by MacKillop Family Services.
  • Successful completion of Brief & Intermediate MARAM training, or a willingness to complete.
