We are a warm, active family in West Hartford with 2 children whose school and after-school activity schedules keep our days lively, with Tuesdays and Thursdays being especially full as everyone heads in different directions. We value a welcoming, comfortable, and organized home where practical systems make daily life easier, shared spaces stay usable, and routines bring a little more ease to the day.
Our week involves managing both immediate day to day tasks and the larger household projects that can easily fall behind. School runs, meal logistics, laundry, and errands happen in tandem with seasonal turnover, closet organization, and trip preparation. With an established weekly housekeeper handling deep cleaning, we look for household support to maintain that rhythm, connect the dots, and keep our focus from being pulled in several directions at once.
Our needs shift from week to week, so we appreciate a balance of predictable routines and natural flexibility when plans change. We value professional boundaries alongside a warm working relationship, and we hope to build a lasting partnership that becomes a comfortable, trusted part of our household.
You are proactive, resourceful, and naturally organized, with a calm, warm presence. You notice what needs attention, think through sensible next steps, and follow through without needing every task spelled out. You take pride in creating order that is useful and easy to maintain, whether you’re resetting a shared space, tracking household supplies, or moving a larger organization project toward completion.
You bring a project manager’s mindset to household work while staying flexible when the day’s priorities shift. You communicate clearly, take direction well, welcome feedback, and use good judgment about when to act independently and when to check in. You are dependable, discreet, and respectful of professional boundaries in a family home, and you understand that consistency and trust are built through thoughtful follow-through.
You are comfortable working independently and confident transporting children, while also being happy to prepare dinner, help with meal prep, reset the kitchen, run an errand, and provide light childcare as needs arise. You can balance practical tasks with a warm, attentive presence. Most importantly, you find satisfaction in dependable, thoughtful work and in helping a busy household feel less stretched and more supported.
Please submit a short intro letter sharing a little about yourself and why this role would be a great fit, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with contact information. Please note that this role requires a background check.
