CORA is seeking a Family Advocate Counselor for our Clinical Division. The Family Advocate Counselor is responsible for providing counseling services to adolescents, children and family members, as well as case management services as appropriate.

Starting Salary: $51,432/year (actual salary commensurate with experience)

In addition, as a Family Advocate Counselor your duties will include:

  • Provide individual, group and family counseling in the Agency or approved schools/alternate sites as appropriate.
  • Advocate for clients in obtaining appropriate support services.
  • Seek out and provide consultation with other professionals as needed.
  • Initiate and recommend appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Adhere to Agency and funding source guidelines concerning caseload requirements and accountability.
  • Generate and prepare all required statistical reports in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in all necessary interdisciplinary functions and meetings.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with school/community representatives in assigned geographical areas as appropriate.
  • Adhere to training requirements established by Agency or other regulatory entities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, as needed.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s level degree in one of the helping professions
  • Education or experience in family systems intervention/service essential

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Documented experience in treatment or intervention counseling services required
  • Working knowledge of delinquency prevention concepts and the effects of substance use essential
  • One year experience in youth service setting preferred.
