DLA Piper’s Projects team is growing, and we’re looking for a high-performing Senior Associate with 4–6 years’ experience to join our Sydney team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-profile projects and make an impact in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

You’ll work closely with Noni Shannon, our leading Partner for Environment and Climate, one of Australia’s well respected lawyers in this space. You will advise industry and government on all aspects of environmental and planning law, including:

• Project approvals
• Contaminated land
• Biodiversity
• Native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage

You’ll also be involved in:

• Advising on approvals and development of major capital projects for the energy transition, with a focus on renewable and alternative energy
• Advising on regulation and participation in environmental markets
• Advising on development of carbon and biodiversity projects
• Advising on regulatory compliance and investigations in environment, climate, and sustainability, including climate and sustainability reporting
• Advising on circular economy and ESG requirements, including regulatory scanning and best practice

What we’re looking for:

• 4–6 years’ post-qualification experience in projects, environment, or planning law
• Strong technical skills and commercial acumen
• Ability to manage complex matters and build trusted client relationships
• A collaborative mindset and passion for innovation
