The Team You’ll Work With:
The Mayor’s Office of Mass Engagement (OME) is responsible for strategizing, coordinating, and executing on engagement that reaches the masses of everyday New Yorkers. We engage New Yorkers in shaping policy outcomes, demystifying government, and ensuring that the government remains accountable to serving the people of this great City. Our work is designed as a long term project – we are building the power of everyday New Yorkers and we are building a City that works for all of us.

The Problems You’ll Solve:
Liaisons represent the Mayor in each of their citywide communities and facilitate civic participation of their communities. Faith Liaisons represent the Mayor in relation to a specific faith community. Faith Liaisons serve as the direct link between their community, the Mayor, his administration, and City agencies. The responsibilities of a Faith Liaison include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining key relationships with the citywide community of their faith;
Attending relevant community events and representing the Mayor at community events;
Developing meaningful, reciprocal, and trust reinforcing relationships with their faith community, community leaders, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, non-profits, and policy experts related to the community of faith;
Communicating quickly, effectively, and compassionately with community members and community stakeholders in times of emergencies;
Generating and executing on campaign plans in coordination with other members of OME;
Collecting and sharing community feedback and innovative ideas back from their community of faith with fellow OME staff, the administration, and/or relevant governmental entities;
Creating pathways to make local government more accessible and understandable to their community of faith;
Serving as constituent liaison when necessary, working with senior Administration staff to respond to questions.

Qualifications

1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university?

2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities?

3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above?

4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above?
