To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Failure Analysis Engineer located in Juarez Sur. Reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager the Failure Analysis Engineer Responsible for implementing and maintaining cost-effective troubleshooting methods for systems, software, and equipment, and for proposing and implementing solutions for critical issues to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a healthy inventory of repair or manufacturing processes. Tasked with increasing technical knowledge and with developing training plans for technical staff, ensuring flexibility across projects and technologies. Responsible for monitoring and improving technician efficiency and effectiveness indicators to ensure optimal performance.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Directs and coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in design of methos of failure analisys, testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
  • Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, telemeter and record test data.
  • Directs and coordinate the strategies of debug the fail product of the test process.
  • Defines conditions and procedures under which The technicians are to be conducted and Indicators and phases of Debug Process.
  • Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing and troubleshooting problems such as failures of product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, Failure Analysis Reports, new solutions, obsolete components data interpretation or coding issues.
  • Evaluates and interprets Failures data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.
  • Develops or uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
  • Trains and instructs floor support, debug technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, failures solutions as well as proper problem solving techniques.
  • Resolves test yield problems by performing examination of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
  • Analize circuits and topologies to identify marginal issues or compatibility issues between components
  • Yield trend and pareto analisys to identify epidemic failures that required deeper analisys
  • Develop and monitoring the efficacy and efficiency metrics to improve diagnostic process
  • Provide technical documentation and tools for diagnostic purpose

Specialized Job Responsibilities may be required for certain positions. These could include one or more of the following duties:

  • IN-CIRCUIT
  • Develops and/or supports quality comprehensive test programs.
  • Develops or modifies test models.
  • Performs test ability evaluation (DFT).
  • Performs mechanical examination of test fixtures.
  • Coordinates 3rd part development of in-circuit programs and enhancements.

FUNCTIONAL

  • Develops and/or supports diagnostic tests at the card edge level.
  • Supports improvements to functional test hardware.
  • Develops test plans and procedures.
  • Coordinates 3rd party development of functional test development and enhancements.

ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS SCREENING (ESS)

  • Designs, develops and/or supports environmental test programs, procedures and profiles
  • Performs failure analysis on environmental test failures.
  • Coordinates 3rd party development of ESS activities.

SYSTEMS & Software

  • Evaluates and interprets software or system level diagnostic failure (software and hardware).
  • Develops and/or modifies software or system level plans and tests.
  • Develops and/or supports quality comprehensive test programs.
  • Performs test ability evaluation (DFT).

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in failure analysis of electronic boards, including diagnostics and repair in a server environment
  • Intermediate to Advanced English
  • Teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience supervising or managing personnel
  • Completed degree in Digital Electronics or related field
  • Experience using measurement equipment, including multimeters
