About the Role:

Reporting to the Dean, the Faculty Services Manager provides operational leadership for all administrative and operational functions within the Faculty of Humanities. The incumbent ensures efficient administrative and operational support, financial stewardship and alignment with institutional priorities. The Faculty Services Manager oversees the administrative and operational effectiveness of the faculty, working closely with centres of expertise across the University, while fostering collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement across departments.

The Faculty Services Manager will:

  • Provide operational support to the Dean and Faculty leadership, working to understand Faculty needs, supporting the development of annual plans, by translating administrative and operational priorities into actionable plans;
  • Support the implementation of annual operational plans, monitor progress, and report on key metrics;
  • Oversee the delivery of administrative and operational support services, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and service excellence;
  • Serve as the primary liaison for administrative, operational and financial matters for the Faculty, representing Faculty interests on university-wide committees and initiatives;
  • Oversee and support faculty operations, administrative and finance staff, ensuring effective workload allocation, priority setting, and high-quality service delivery;
  • Direct and oversee day-to-day operations and administrative functions;
  • Act as the primary contact for Chairs and/or Program Directors, ensuring timely and effective service delivery;
  • Develop and maintain efficient workflows and standardized procedures to optimize faculty operations;
  • Lead faculty budget planning and development processes, ensuring efficient resource utilization;
  • Oversee financial analysis and projections, providing recommendations to support informed decision-making and cost optimization;
  • Oversee administrative budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation, including procurement related to administrative operations;
  • Provide comprehensive leadership for full-time ongoing employees by managing, coaching, and mentoring while ensuring effective recruitment and training to meet the department/ and or organizational goals.

Please note this position may be required to attend events or meetings outside of regular business hours to support operational needs.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered;
  • Experience in an administrative and budget management role within a multi-union environment;
  • Experience in a Leadership/Manager/Supervisor role, and managing operations;
  • Skilled in aligning operations with institutional priorities and driving change;
  • Knowledge of budget development and financial management;
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and resource optimization;
  • Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence;
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software applications, and ability and willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies, including AI tools and platforms;
  • Promotes and embodies inclusivity and respect within the workplace and the broader community;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service orientation;
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and manage high-performing teams;
  • Effective in fostering partnerships across departments and units; and
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred or Asset Skills:

  • Master’s degree; and
  • Experience in an academic setting.

Salary and Total Rewards:

  • Job Grade M, Salary Scale ($74,235-$118,776);
  • Target Hiring Range: $74,235-$90,000*
  • This is a permanent position that includes:
  • Health & Dental Benefits: Comprehensive extended health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Pension Plan: Enrollment eligibility in the Brock University Pension Plan.
  • Vacation: Up to 3 weeks per year, in addition to university holidays.
  • Professional Development: Eligibility for the Brock Tuition Waiver Program.

*The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.
