About the Job

The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for a professorial appointment at the William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute (FTPI). Candidates with distinguished scholarly accomplishments in theoretical physics will be considered. The School of Physics and Astronomy has strong and well-supported groups conducting research in various subfields of physics.

The appointment is expected to be at the tenured faculty level (qualified applicants who are current assistant professors will also be considered). The FTPI affiliation typically provides additional research opportunities through a reduced teaching load. The position remains open until filled.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in physics or related field. Must have established a vigorous and significant research program and leadership qualities in their area as evidenced by their publication record and supporting letters from recognized leaders in the field. The ability to teach physics effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels is required.

Pay & Benefits

Pay Range: Depending on education/qualifications/experience -

Associate Professor: $112,534 - $132,600

Full Professor: $135,000 - $230,000

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
