The Oregon Health & Science University - Knight Cancer Institute, known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine, is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology currently has over 110 faculty and is comprised of programs in general hematology, solid tumor oncology, bone marrow transplant & cellular therapy, hematological malignancies, and palliative medicine.

Function/Duties of Position

The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objectives of OHSU and the School of Medicine and include: participate in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair; care of patients with lung cancer; establish and maintain a program of scholarly activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection and treatment of lung cancer; participate in administrative committees and councils of the OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division Head; engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head.

It is anticipated the position will be made up of the following components: Clinical, teaching research/academic, and inpatient service.

Required Qualifications

  • MD OR MD/PhD
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Board eligible/certified in Hematology and or/Medical Oncology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • History of specialized training and clinical experience focused on the care of patients with thoracic malignancies, including lung and head & neck cancers.
