Job Description

General Summary of Position:

This is a part-time adjunct instructor opportunity to teach a 3-hour lab session once a week Fall or Spring semester with the goal to teach undergraduate students how to use the basic equipment in a fitness recreation center (e.g., free weights and functional training such as squats). The course is introductory in nature, particularly designed for students with limited skills in strength and conditioning in the fitness and recreational center environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Master's of Science degree in exercise science, strength and conditioning, athletic training, or a related field;
  • CSCS, NSCA-CPT, and/or ACSM-CPT credentials;
  • Demonstrated expertise in foundational knowledge and skill in strength and conditioning exercise and fitness;
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching or coaching people regarding strength and conditioning fitness exercise; and demonstrated expertise and/or a strong desire to teach students health and fitness exercise skills.
