Job Description

The Positions

Fulbright University Vietnam (FUV) seeks applications for a faculty position in the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM). Preference will be given to applicants in the following categories: Leadership, Negotiation and Strategic Management. FSPPM faculty will be in charge of not only teaching activities to manage the development of the course framework, materials, lecture the courses, supervise students’ theses, but also other nonteaching, research and outreach activities as assigned by the Director of MPP and the Dean of FSPPM.

The Institution

Located in Ho Chi Minh City, FUV is Vietnam’s first private, not-for-profit university announced by President Barack Obama on May 24, 2016 and given substantial financial support from the US State Department, USAID, and a variety of private donors. We aim to create an institution that can transform the lives our students, address the pressing needs of Vietnamese society, and ultimately point the way toward a new approach to high quality education in developing countries.

The FSPPM builds upon a two-decade long initiative of Harvard University to incubate a center of public policy research and teaching, the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program (FETP). In the fall of 2016, Harvard transferred the people and programs of FETP to FUV. In 2019, FSPPM becomes the first public policy school in Southeast Asia accredited by NASPAA. Among FSPPM’s activities are a fulltime Masters in Public Policy (MPP) program with two concentrations – Policy Analysis and Leadership & Management; and the Vietnam Executive Leadership Program – a high-level policy discussion forum with the Vietnamese government with FUV and Harvard.

FUV’s Board of Trustees has adopted an ambitious mandate for FSPPM to become an internationally recognized graduate professional school that prepares students for positions of leadership in all sectors of society and contribute to the resolution of the grand challenges facing Vietnam, the region, and the world through policy engagement, analysis, and research.
