The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor ( bme.umich.edu), a joint department between the College of Engineering and the Medical School, is seeking to fill multiple tenured and tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks. We seek applications from individuals in all areas of biomedical engineering that will complement and expand upon our current areas of strength. We seek candidates who will provide inspiration and leadership in research and teaching, who can leverage the strengths of the University of Michigan’s vibrant and highly ranked engineering and medical research communities, and who will build collaborative ties with other departments across the University. We have a particular interest in both mid-career and senior candidates with dynamic research programs.
We seek faculty members who will commit to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education, develop impactful, productive and novel research programs, and contribute to the department's goal of eliminating systemic racism and sexism by embracing our culture of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Details of the University’s comprehensive DEI strategic plan — with updates on our programs and resources dedicated to ensuring a welcoming, fair, and inclusive environment — can be found at: diversity.umich.edu
Qualifications required include an earned Ph.D. in engineering or a physical science-related discipline and demonstrated excellence in, or a commitment to, teaching, research, and scholarship. M.D./Ph.D. candidates are also encouraged to apply.
