About the Role

We are supporting a leading UAE insurance organisation in the appointment of an experienced Facultative Reinsurance Specialist to join its reinsurance function.

This opportunity is exclusively open to Emirati / UAE Nationals and is suited to candidates with established technical experience in facultative reinsurance, placement and portfolio management.

The successful candidate will manage facultative reinsurance requirements across relevant classes of business, working closely with underwriting teams, brokers, reinsurers and internal stakeholders to secure appropriate capacity, terms and protection.

Key Responsibilities

Facultative Placement

• Manage facultative reinsurance placements across designated classes of business.
• Prepare and review submissions, underwriting information and placement documentation.
• Secure appropriate capacity, terms and conditions from local and international reinsurance markets.

Technical Assessment

• Review facultative risks from a technical and commercial perspective.
• Assess exposures, limits, deductibles and proposed reinsurance structures.
• Ensure placements are aligned with underwriting guidelines and internal risk appetite.

Reinsurer & Broker Management

• Maintain strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers and other market counterparties.
• Negotiate terms, pricing and conditions to support effective risk transfer.
• Monitor market capacity, appetite and emerging reinsurance trends.

Portfolio Management

• Monitor facultative portfolios, utilisation and overall placement performance.
• Identify concentration, accumulation and exposure issues where relevant.
• Support portfolio reviews and provide technical input into reinsurance strategy.

Documentation & Administration

• Ensure facultative placements are accurately documented and recorded.
• Review slips, confirmations, endorsements and supporting documentation.
• Maintain complete and accurate records in line with internal and regulatory requirements.

Internal Collaboration

• Work closely with underwriting, claims, finance and risk teams.
• Provide specialist facultative advice on complex or high-value risks.
• Support senior management with market insight, reporting and strategic reinsurance initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications

• Must be an Emirati / UAE National.
• Relevant experience within facultative reinsurance, insurance or reinsurance broking.
• Strong understanding of facultative placement structures and international reinsurance markets.
• Experience handling complex, specialist or high-value risks is preferred.
• Good understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment and reinsurance documentation.
• Existing relationships with regional or international reinsurers and brokers would be advantageous.
• Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business or a related discipline preferred.
• Professional insurance or reinsurance qualifications would be an advantage.
