The opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Factory Test Room Engineer (Small & Medium Power Transformer) to perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical equipment and systems within our factory environment, ensuring adherence to quality standards and operational efficiency.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Execute comprehensive functional, performance, and type tests on a variety of electrical products and systems, including but not limited to transformers, switchgear, and other power equipment, according to established test procedures and specifications.

  • Analyze test results, identify deviations from expected performance, and diagnose root causes of failures or malfunctions.

  • Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to implement corrective actions and improve product quality and reliability.

  • Prepare detailed test reports, documenting test procedures, results, observations, and recommendations.

  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment and instrumentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.

  • Develop and optimize test plans and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies within the test room environment.

  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior test technicians as required.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to testing methodologies and equipment.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in a factory test room environment, preferably within the power or heavy electrical equipment manufacturing industry.

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit analysis, and power systems.

  • Proficiency in operating and interpreting data from various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and high-voltage test sets.

  • Familiarity with relevant international testing standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI) is highly desirable.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and collaboration.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
