The Factory Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the manufacturing facility, overseeing all production, operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, warehouse, purchasing, human resources, administration, safety, and compliance functions, excluding finance. The role is accountable for ensuring operational excellence, productivity, quality, cost efficiency, timely delivery, and continuous improvement while fostering a safe and high-performance working environment.

Job Responsibilities

Factory Operations

  • Lead and manage the overall daily operations of the factory.
  • Develop operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate all departments to ensure smooth factory operations.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions.
Production Management
  • Plan and monitor production schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery deadlines are achieved.
  • Optimize manpower, equipment, and production resources.
  • Drive productivity and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
Quality Management
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality management systems.
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Engineering & Maintenance
  • Oversee engineering and maintenance functions.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are effectively implemented.
  • Improve equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
  • Support automation and process improvement projects.
Warehouse, Purchasing & Logistics
  • Supervise warehouse, inventory, purchasing, and logistics operations.
  • Ensure sufficient material supply for production.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and optimize stock levels.
  • Coordinate supplier performance and material availability.
Human Resources & Administration
  • Oversee factory HR and administrative functions.
  • Support recruitment, workforce planning, training, and employee development.
  • Maintain employee discipline and positive industrial relations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labour regulations.
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the factory.
  • Lead accident investigations and preventive actions.
Cost Management
  • Control operational expenses within approved budgets.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Improve operational efficiency without compromising quality.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and statutory regulations.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Drive operational excellence across the factory.
Leadership
  • Lead and develop department managers and supervisors.
  • Build a high-performance culture through coaching and accountability.
  • Drive teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience and at least 5 years in a senior factory management position.
  • Experience managing multiple functional departments.
  • Electronics manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
