Factory Finance Business Partner – Mars Food, Cape Town South Africa

As a Factory Finance Business Partner at Mars, you would serve as a trusted partner to our Site/Manufacturing Management team, providing financial leadership in the pursuit of operational excellence and cost efficiency. You will be responsible for defining and ensuring the delivery of financial objectives, providing insights on operating results, and clarifying key performance indicators to help drive our value creation roadmap.

What are we looking for?

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience, ideally with a background in manufacturing or supply chain business partnering.
• Strong technical understanding of cost and management accounting, capital project evaluation, and analytical techniques.
• A working knowledge of supply processes (e.g., Demand Planning, S&OP, Inventory flow) and general business acumen.
• Demonstrated ability to derive critical insights from financial data and communicate them effectively to the business.
• Someone with excellent interpersonal skills, who can manage conflict, deal with ambiguity, and drive for results.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Act as the key Finance Business Partner to the Plant Manager, providing financial advice to ensure sound operational and strategic decisions.
• Actively partner with the manufacturing team to drive performance, meet financial commitments, and champion continuous improvement.
• Conduct ongoing analysis of trends to identify business issues and opportunities, making recommendations for future actions.
• Provide thorough insights and inputs for the operating plan, revised forecasts, and strategic planning cycles for the manufacturing scope.
• Contribute to a culture of accountability by tracking action plans for key initiatives and addressing root causes to drive sustainable improvements.
• As a member of the Global VCO Finance Team, share and drive best practices and contribute to a high-performing and engaged team.
