Factory Excellence Leader Factory Best
In this role, you will be part of the Factory Best Manufacturing organization, one of Philips Health Systems’ key multi-modality manufacturing sites. Factory Best manufactures, refurbishes, and repairs medical devices and components in a safe, compliant, effective, and customer-focused manner.
As Factory Excellence Manager, you will lead the capabilities that strengthen the operational backbone of Factory Best: Business Process Engineering, Engineering Change, Integrated Warehousing & Distribution, and Continuous Improvement. You will drive operational excellence, process maturity, compliance, and transformation across Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, IT, and supporting functions.

Function Description
The Factory Excellence Manager is accountable for enabling safe, compliant, scalable, and efficient factory operations by leading expert teams across Business Process Engineering, Engineering Change, Integrated Warehousing & Distribution, and Continuous Improvement. The role translates business priorities into robust processes, digital capabilities, operational standards, and measurable improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
People leadership: Lead, coach, and develop approximately 25 professionals of which 19 direct reports across BPE/EC, Integrated Warehousing & Distribution (with team leader as direct report), and Continuous Improvement, ensuring clear priorities, effective collaboration, performance management, and capability development.
Health, safety, quality, and compliance: Create and sustain a working environment that continuously improves worker health and safety while ensuring adherence to regulatory, environmental, quality, local legal, Philips General Business Principles, and internal policy requirements.
Business Process Engineering and Engineering Change: Lead the BPE/EC team in optimizing factory processes, acting as Process Owner or Subject Matter Expert where applicable, and ensuring process changes are embedded into standards, ways of working, and the Operations IT landscape.
Transformation and IT implementation: Represent Operations in major IT and business transformation programs, translating Operations requirements into clear deliverables for NPI and IT projects and ensuring effective stakeholder alignment, implementation, and follow-up.
Integrated Warehousing & Distribution: Lead the Integrated Warehousing & Distribution team to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient inbound, storage, inventory management, material handling, and outbound distribution processes that support factory performance and customer fulfillment.
Logistics and inventory performance: Drive warehouse and distribution excellence through inventory accuracy improvement, capacity management, logistics optimization, productivity improvement, digitalization, and data-driven decision making.
Continuous Improvement: Lead the Continuous Improvement team in identifying, prioritizing, and executing operational excellence initiatives across Manufacturing, Logistics, and Support Functions using Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Operational excellence culture: Establish and sustain a continuous improvement culture by coaching teams, facilitating Kaizen events, strengthening performance management routines, and embedding structured improvement practices into daily operations.
Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, IT, Procurement, and business leadership to align priorities, remove roadblocks, and deliver measurable operational impact.

Required Skills and Experience
Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
More than 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, operations, logistics, process engineering, business process management, engineering change management, or continuous improvement.
Proven leadership experience in managing expert teams, setting direction, developing people, and driving performance across multiple functions.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to translate complex operational challenges into clear priorities, practical solutions, and sustainable standards.
Proven track record in managing, implementing, and executing IT-enabled business transformation or process improvement programs.
Experience with quality and compliance requirements in a regulated environment, preferably including medical device regulations, FDA, ISO standards, and software validation.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and structured problem-solving methodologies, with demonstrated delivery of measurable business results.
Demonstrated ability to optimize logistics processes, inventory performance, warehouse productivity, and operational flow through data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align diverse functions, manage priorities, and drive action across organizational boundaries.
Change leadership mindset with a strong sense of urgency, bias for action, and ability to sustain improvements in daily operations.
Strong customer focus and the ability to manage a broad range of activities, priorities, and stakeholders in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Fluent in Dutch, English, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of SAP, Windchill or related Operations IT systems.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in medical device manufacturing, refurbishment, repair, or service supply chain environments.
Experience with warehouse digitalization, logistics automation, or advanced inventory management practices.
Strong business acumen, including cost, productivity, capacity, and operational performance management.
AI relevant experience in the field of Engineering

Compensation & Benefits
Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is €93.049 Gross – €155.081 Gross. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations. This role is eligible for maximum 6% bonus, with your rewards linked to KPIs/company results.
