A Brief Overview

Manages the facility maintenance program and tasks. Maintains the appearance of the interior & exterior campus. Maintains buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe and hazard free environment. Coordinates and oversees all projects involving building changes, as well as new construction projects.

What you will do

  • Responsible for the overall upkeep and safety of buildings, grounds and equipment, fixed and unfixed to ensure critical building systems are functional at all times.
  • Coordinates the duties including, but not limited to, lawn care, sidewalk care, snow removal, outside groundwork, landscaping, window and door repair, painting, and parking lot care. Follows all Lockout/Tagout procedures and correctly use personal protection equipment.
  • Removes trash and hazardous waste material according to local, state, federal, and OSHA guidelines and maintains documentation for state and OSHA regulations and medical waste records.
  • Performs staff safety training including, but not limited to, of Lockout/Tagout procedures, and use of personal protection equipment.
  • Coordinates and directs fire drills, emergency weather drills, appropriate materials in the safety manual, makes recommendations regarding safety and security procedures, and participates in safety inspections.
  • Develops and monitors a preventative maintenance schedule for all facility building systems. Records equipment repairs and preventive maintenance on all equipment serviced.
  • Receives and submits bids from professional contractors on capital improvements and expenditures; manages facility vendors and suppliers to ensure that work is done appropriately and cost effectively.
  • Orders and inventories supplies and maintains pest control, equipment, and performs repairs.
  • May assist with other maintenance related activities and/or off site activities.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Drivers License - Licensing Board
