The Facility/Regional Safety Health & Environmental Manager leads cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence in Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance. This position drives SH&E improvements in compliance by providing leadership, development, implementation, and execution of SH&E Programs. The primary object of this role is to protect and improve the Safety & Health of employees and site Environmental Compliance through prevention, encouragement of a culture where safety, health and environmental Compliance are ingrained as a core value.
Provide SH&E Leadership (60%)
  • Effectively lead, coach, and develop managers and line leaders across all functions to be effective SH&E leaders/coaches in their respective positions.
  • Foster a culture where Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance are ingrained as a core value, analyzing SH&E conditions to drive changes for continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate and engage the SHE committee team to act as an extension of the SH&E Team, facilitating monthly safety meetings and coordinating safety activities and inspections.
  • Develop a holistic strategy and implementation plan, aligned with Group priorities & objectives. Guide implementation and communication of the strategy.
  • Develop SH&E best-in-class programs, systems, and processes, including training and mentoring to establish clear procedures on SH&E measures and precautions.
  • Ensure investigation of all SH&E-related incidents are properly conducted utilizing tools to drive to root cause and identify actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure all actions to prevent recurrence are effectively implemented while also ensuring an effective injury case management process is fully implemented, well understood, and functioning as desired.
  • Maintain a budget that will support the SH&E functions of the Business. Will also assist other Department Managers in allotting appropriate funding to complete SH&E goals.
  • Ensure sites maintain continuous “audit ready” state of compliance with company SH&E policies and procedures as well as all applicable external regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure facility compliance with company and regulatory agency policies, including federal, state, and local legislation and regulations pertaining to worker safety and preservation of the environment.
  • Lead effective implementation and utilization of risk assessment and risk prediction processes across sites to ensure these are effective at identifying and mitigating hazards and are effectively communicated and understood by all affected employees.
  • Assist in updating security risk and threat assessments relating to the facility and will escalate deficiencies identified.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (e.g. regulatory bodies, trades unions, NGOs) on SH&E topics to build long term, positive relationships.
  • Maintain and report accurate SH&E data/metrics at the site as well as in designated Nestlé systems, excelling in compliance & continuous improvement leveraging Nestlé foundational practices.
  • Ensure the practical implementation and day-to-day compliance with applicable Security and SH&E guidelines.
  • Provide overall input site SH&E sustainability initiatives, strategies, programs, and procedures.
Provide Facility Leadership (40%)
Facility Maintenance & Building Operations
  • Monitor facility infrastructure and coordinate repairs with property management, landlords, and third-party service providers.
  • Identify and coordinate correction of building maintenance issues affecting employee safety, comfort, or operational efficiency.
Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Serve as the primary facility contact for property owners, maintenance vendors, cleaning contractors, pest control providers, and safety service companies.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and oversee facility-related service visits to ensure work is completed according to contractual and operational requirements.
  • Review completed work, approve service records when appropriate, and maintain documentation of vendor activities.
  • Evaluate recurring maintenance needs and communicate service requirements to internal stakeholders and external contractors.
Grounds, Safety & Environmental Management
  • Monitor facility grounds for potential safety concerns and ensure facility issues impacting employee safety are promptly addressed.
  • Maintain compliance with company Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) requirements by documenting applicable contractor and vendor visits.
  • Ensure emergency and safety equipment, including eyewash stations, first aid supplies, and fire extinguishers, receive required inspections and maintenance.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and maintain records of facility service schedules, ensure inspections, corrective actions, vendor reports, and compliance-related activities are completed and documented.
Break Room & Employee Amenities
  • Operation, training and maintenance of employee break room equipment, including water dispensers, vending machines, and related amenities.
  • Coordinate repairs and service needs for employee convenience equipment with appropriate internal resources and vendors.
  • Monitor supply levels and support replenishment of paper products, soaps, garbage bags, and other facility-related consumables.
Security & Emergency Preparedness
  • Support facility security programs and act as a liaison with corporate security personnel and local site stakeholders.
  • Manage facility access controls, key distribution, lockbox administration, IT server room access and emergency access procedures.
  • Coordinate training and communication related to electrical panels, emergency response procedures, and facility access requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining site readiness for emergencies by ensuring critical building systems and safety infrastructure are operational.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • A B.S. degree in safety, health, environmental or similar discipline preferred.
  • Professional certifications in SH&E-related fields are considered beneficial and may include CSP, CIH, OHST, NEBOSH, etc.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years’ experience with Safety, Health, and Environment program development, implementation, and training; examples include: Lockout/tagout, confined space entry, chemical hygiene, respiratory protection, fall protection, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, chemical management, and Behavior Based Safety (BBS).
  • Proven experience and a solid understanding of ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001, LEAN and TPM concepts and their relationship to production/engineering and job functions as it relates to building in prevention.
  • Detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.
  • Solid technical understanding of SH&E issues and their relationship to production/engineering and job functions as it relates to building prevention.
  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence across a diverse range of people from Corporate/Division leadership to a factory floor associate.
  • Proven track record to drive sustainable organizational change.
  • Capacity to think both strategically and tactically and quickly flow across the two.
  • Strong demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detailed and results oriented.
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated regulatory and technical issues in lay terms.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to master other specialized software.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to take proactive approach to anticipated issues and process improvement.

The approximate pay range for this position is $107,197.20 - $135,991.80 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
