We currently have an opportunity for a Facility Services Manager to join our Health and Education team and play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant and reliable delivery of facilities services at the Royal Children’s Hospital. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll help deliver high‑quality outcomes that support critical healthcare operations in a highly regulated PPP environment.
Royal Children’s Hospital – Melbourne (On‑site role)
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
Lead and coordinate planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities to ensure asset performance and compliance across the hospital site.
Manage subcontractors end‑to‑end, including onboarding, reviewing SWMS and permits, conducting inductions, and inspecting works to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Build strong working relationships with hospital stakeholders, Project Co and service partners within a PPP framework.
Maintain accurate documentation, asset registers and maintenance records in line with contractual, statutory and audit requirements.
Champion a proactive safety culture, ensuring all works comply with Downer policies, WHS legislation and hospital requirements.
What You’ll Bring
A tertiary qualification with an engineering background, or a strong trade background with relevant facilities management experience.
Experience managing facilities services, ideally within a healthcare or similarly regulated environment (healthcare experience highly regarded but not essential).
Proven capability in subcontractor management, compliance checking and contractor performance oversight.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage documentation and reporting in a PPP setting.
Eligibility to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC).
