About the Role

MSS Security is looking for an experienced and hands-on Facility Manager to oversee operations at our mining village site in Moranbah This role is ideal for a strong people leader who thrives in remote environments, enjoys daily client engagement, and can effectively lead large teams in a fast-paced operational setting. This is a FIFO or DIDO opportunity, Monday to Friday, typically 4 days on site with flexible work from home arrangements for part of the week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of mining village facilities, ensuring security, accommodation, and site services are delivered to a high standard.

  • Build strong client relationships through regular onsite engagement while leading and supporting onsite teams.

  • Manage workforce performance, rostering, safety, and operational compliance across the site.

  • Coordinate contractors, resolve operational issues, and manage escalations to maintain efficient site operations.

  • Drive business growth and client retention by identifying opportunities, managing service delivery, and ensuring KPI performance.

  • Support financial performance through effective resource management, reporting, and operational planning.

  • Lead employee engagement and development by mentoring staff, supporting training, and fostering a positive team culture.

  • Promote a strong safety and wellbeing culture through HSE compliance, wellness initiatives, and ethical workplace practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Full Australian Working rights

  • Previous experience in facilities, security, or operations management (1-3 years)

  • Experience managing large teams (20+ staff)

  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills

  • Strong operational and organisational capabilities

  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.

  • Queensland Security Licence (advantageous)

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate (preferred)

Master licence – 41299
