ABOUT THE JOB:
Under supervision, perform mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance work. Diagnose and repair plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and general plant equipment or other tasks as assigned. Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and production crews as needed. Work on special projects with other maintenance technicians and/or maintenance supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend to work orders on maintenance application and perform basic building and equipment repairs.
• Locates parts or materials for repairs.
• Plumbing, lighting, carpentry, wall patching, painting, concrete and flooring repairs.
• Relocate office equipment and furnishings.
• Operates both manual and electric powered hand tools.
• Minor preventative maintenance repairs on air conditioning systems.
• Maintain emergency systems including fire extinguishers and egress lighting.
• Keeps the workshop and trucks in clean and orderly condition.
• Retrieves repair parts, shop tools, and other items as specified.
• Operating forklift, man lifts, track hoes, etc. when necessary.
• Work with Maintenance Supervisor on projects.
• Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is necessary to perform these essential functions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• There are no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written, and have basic communication skills; interpersonal, written, and verbal, for dealing with all levels and associates, and reading instruction and parts manuals.
• Must have basic knowledge of mechanics.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to operate the following tools and equipment:
◦ Hand tools.
◦ Mobile and stationary equipment in plant.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Additional technical education and/or training is preferred.
• 1-3 years of production manufacturing maintenance support is preferred.
